SOHO Atlanta Restaurant will showcase the wines and flavors of Sonoma, California, on flight night, Wednesday, September 25. The wines and tapas introduced on Wednesday will be available through Tuesday, October 1.

First, SOHO will pour a 2010 Arrowood Chardonnay. The winemaker describes the wine: “Notes of vanilla, crème brûlée, and honey on the nose, balanced by orange zest, citrus blossoms, and some hints of apricot jam. The palate is bright with crisp acidity, hints of spicy oak, and a bit of red apple. The wine is impeccably balanced and finishes with bright, honeyed oak.”

Next, SOHO will pour a 2011 Davis Bynum Jane Vineyard Pinot Noir. The winemaker describes the process of creating the Pinot Noir: “I choose a selection of Pinot “clones” to enhance complexity, while keeping to the food friendly flavor profile that has always been a hallmark of Davis Bynum: a little lighter, without being lean; a little crisper, without being tart; a little more fruit driven, without being distracting; with a round, soft mouthfeel.”

Finally, SOHO will pour a 2010 Mossback Chalk Hill Cabernet. According to the winemaker: “The 2010 Mossback Cabernet Sauvignon is a rustic, muscular red that shows enticing aromas of violets, tobacco and Grandpa’s old leather chair. The flavors are revealed in layers of chocolate covered berries, sweet red plums, cracked black peppercorns and chalky chewy tannins.”

SOHO’s executive chef, Joe Ahn, has created three tapas plates to pair with each Sonoma wine.
