SOHO Atlanta Restaurant will continue to showcase the wines and flavors of Sonoma, California, on flight night, Wednesday, September 18. The wines and tapas introduced on flight night will be available through Tuesday, September 24.
First, SOHO will pour a 2011 Lioco Sonoma County Chardonnay. The winemaker says of the wine: “The telltale notes of lemon peel and crushed rock are delivered with the kind of precision found only in the coolest years; and 2011 was cool and wet. What may be lacking in sheer weight is made right by a mainline injection of stoney minerality.”
Next, SOHO will pour a 2011 Cline Cellars Cashmere. The red blend is described as: “A very flavorful, smooth wine offering big cherry, raspberry and chocolate notes with hints of cracked black pepper and plum.”
Finally, SOHO will pour a 2008 Schug Sonoma Valley Merlot. The winemaker describes the wine: “This powerful yet elegant Merlot is crafted in the classic Bordeaux style that Walter Schug pioneered in California while winemaster of Joseph Phelps Vineyards. The cooler Sonoma microclimates provide the longer growing season necessary for Merlot to ripen slowly and develop maximum flavor. It has a spicy bouquet, deep color and exhibits full-bodied flavors of cherry and blackberry.”
SOHO’s executive chef, Joe Ahn, has created three tapas plates to pair with each Sonoma wine.
