First, SOHO will pour a 2012 Adelsheim Chardonnay from Willamette Valley, Oregon. The winemaker says of the wine: ”This Chardonnay features intense fruit character and a luscious texture. It offers fresh, crisp flavors of pear, white peach, star fruit and kiwi.”

Next, SOHO will pour a 2011 Elk Cove Pinot from Willamette Valley, Oregon. The winemaker describes the wine as featuring “Aromas and flavors of blackberry, cherry compote and spices, with hints of wood smoke and mocha. [It is] supple, broad and open-knit.”

Finally, SOHO will pour a 2010 Erath Estate Selection Pinot Noir from Willamette Valley, Oregon. The winemaker describes the Pinot Noir: “An inviting nose of warm blackberries laced with vanilla, baking spice and root beer engages the senses, leading to a plush mouthful of boysenberry, plum, graham and nougat. Smooth and seamless, each sip is a silky ribbon, woven together with refined tannins and judicious acidity .”

SOHO’s executive chef, Joe Ahn, has created three tapas plates to pair with each wine from Willamette Valley.

First, SOHO will pour a 2011 Domaine Drouhin Chardonnay from Dundee Hills, Oregon. The winemakers says of the Chardonnay: “Like 2010, the 2011 vintage is very good for Chardonnay. The cool growing year and later harvest gave us excellent flavors and acidity. On the nose, there are beautiful white flowers, some citric fruits, and the sense of minerality.

Next, SOHO will pour a 2011 Kings Ridge Pinot Noir from the Willamette Valley. The Pinot Noir is described by the winemakers: “A touch of cinnamon and smoke lead in this compellingly vinous red, with red cherry flavors and an earthy savor in the tannins. It feels dry, structured and elegant.”

Finally, SOHO will pour a 2010 Chehalem 3 Vineyards Pinot Noir from the Willamette Valley. The winemaker says of the wine: “A classic red-fruited Pinot Noir with dark, earthy, savory elements, characteristically cracked pepper, tea leaf, cinnamon, charcoal, matchstick, spice and plum. The acidity of the vintage gives a structure to suspend wood and tannin elements playfully on the palate. ”

SOHO’s executive chef, Joe Ahn, has created three tapas plates to pair with each Oregon wine.

100% Chardonnay
Paired with: Seared sea bass, buttery leeks and parsley

First, SOHO will pour a 2012 Anne Amie Pinot Gris. The wine features aromas of apricot, magnolia, Kaffir lime, gardenia, tangerine, white peach and jasmine. On the palate the wine offers flavors of Asian pear, gala apples, white peach, kiwi and Kaffir lime.

Next, SOHO will pour a 2009 Bethel Heights Pinot Noir from the Willamette Valley. The winemakers describe the Pinot Noir: “The wine initially displays earthy aromas of beet root, celery seed, and camphor with underlying notes of orange zest. With aeration aromas of almond and rainier cherries begin to blossom in the glass. Flavors of blackberry and currants with subtle dark chocolate and tobacco lay over a bright vein of acidity and a brooding structure that promises a long life.”

Finally, SOHO will pour a 2009 La Chini Pinot Noir from the Willamette Valley. The winemaker says of the pinot noir: “It offers an enticing nose of black cherry, sandalwood , incense, smoke and truffles followed by a dense, full-bodied and layered wine. The flavors are savory and sweet with plenty of sliky tannins leading to a long, pure finish.”

SOHO’s executive chef, Joe Ahn, has created three tapas dishes to pair with each Oregon wine.
