SOHO Atlanta Restaurant will showcase the wines and flavors of South America on flight night, Wednesday, June 19. Guests can enjoy the wines and tapas introduced during Wednesday’s flight night through Tuesday, June 25.
First, SOHO will pour a 2012 Paul Hobbs Felino Chardonnay from Mendoza, Argentina. The winemaker describes the wine: “Bright pale gold, with fresh tropical fruit notes of kiwi, mango, pineapple and hints of grapefruit peel. The crisp, refreshing palate is balanced by a sensual creaminess and the nectarine and mango here are joined by hints of orange blossom. The oak is barely perceptible in a vanilla suggestion.”
Next, SOHO will pour a 2009 Montes Pinot Noir from Casablanca Valley, Chile. The winemaker says of the wine: “On the palate it is clean and well balanced, presenting blackberry and black cherry flavors while its soft, velvety texture and a harmonious level of acidity add elegance to the wine and an enjoyable long finish.”
Finally, SOHO will pour a 2010 Graffigna Cabernet Gran Reserva from Padernal Valley, Argentina. The winemaker notes: The wine is the color of ruby red with purple hues. It has aromas of spices, blackberries, and toasted notes from oak aging. The wine is structured on the palate and offers round tannins with black fruit flavors and hints of vanilla. ”
SOHO’s executive chef, Joe Ahn, has created three tapas plates to pair with each South American wine.
