Throughout the month of June, beginning on flight night, Wednesday, June 5, SOHO Atlanta restaurant will be showcasing the wines and flavors of South America.
First, SOHO will pour a 2012 Terranoble “El Algarrobo Vineyard” Sauvignon Blanc Reserva from Casablanca, Chile. The winemaker notes the Sauvignon Blanc ” is highly aromatic and has a deep yellow color with greenish hues. This is a modern style wine. The fruit aromas vary from tropical to lime, grapefruit and subtle notes of asparagus.”
Next, SOHO will pour a 2010 Trapiche Broquel Bonarda from Santa Rosa, Province of Mendoza, Argentina. The winemaker says of the wine: “on the nose the blueberry and ripe cherry notes stand out. Very sweet in the mouth, with ripe and soft tannins. The new oak brings notes of coconut and smoke.”
Finally, SOHO will pour a 2010 Punto Final Malbec Reserva from Argentina. The winemaker says the Malbec is “deep red in color with intense violet shades. On the nose, a combination of red fruits and toasty notes given by the French oak are evident. In the mouth the wine is complex and structured with a long aftertaste.”
SOHO’s executive chef, Joe Ahn, has created three South American-inspired tapas plates to pair with each wine.
