First, SOHO will pour a 2011 Robert Sinskey Vin Gris of Pinot Noir Carneros. The wine has “fresh acidity and brightness, with delicate strawberry aromas and flavors, a silky mouthfeel, and elegant mineral-laced finish.”

Next, SOHO will pour a 2010 Tres Sabores ¿Por Qué No? The winemaker says of the blend: “It’s everyone’s favorite party, pizza, picnic, BBQ and bistro wine thanks to the spirited joy it brings to the palate. The somewhat unconventional blend lends it an exotic charm. We use our best of the rest of our Estate cellar wines along with a selection of Zinfandel, Petite Sirah, Cabernet, and Petit Verdot from other distinguished vineyards.”

Finally, SOHO will pour a 2010 Emblem Cabernet Sauvignon. The winemaker says, “By blending fruit from Napa’s volcanic hillside soils and the deeper alluvial soils of the valley floor, we accomplished our goal of crafting a wine that boasts a beautifully rounded mouthfeel and layers of rich, complex flavor.”

SOHO’s executive chef, Joe Ahn, has created three tapas plates to pair with each Napa Valley wine.

2011 Robert Sinskey Vin Gris of Pinot Noir
100% Pinot Noir
Paired with: Merguez (Morrocan) Fried Chicken

2010 Tres Sabores ¿Por Qué No?

2010 Emblem Cabernet Sauvignon
78% Cabernet, 7% Syrah, 7% Petite Sirah, 4% Zinfandel, 4% Petite Verdot

First, SOHO will pour a 2011 Monticello Chardonnay. According to the winemaker, the Chardonnay “displays great aromas of tropical fruit with citrus undertones. The oak is very well integrated and lends the wine a nice tone of lightly toasted vanilla aromas. The texture of the wine is very smooth, with a lower than typical alcohol and fresh acidity that culminates in a smooth lingering finish.”

Next, SOHO will pour a 2010 Truchard Pinot Noir. The winemaker notes the Pinot Noir features, “Intense aromas of black cherry, plum, and strawberry; with hints of citrus blossom, tea, and earth. The mouth is rich and round; with flavors of plum jam, cranberry, and sweet vanilla. Firm acidity and delicate tannins focus the palate and provide a lingering finish of spice and red fruit.”

Finally, SOHO will pour a 2010 Beringer Cabernet. This Cabernet Sauvignon received 92 points from “Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate.” The reviewer noted, “The 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon (Napa Valley) is richer, deeper and riper than the Knights Valley bottling. Chocolate, mocha, plums and spices come to life in this fleshy, mid-weight wine…”

SOHO’s executive chef, Joe Ahn, has prepared three tapas plates to compliment each Napa Valley wine.

2011 Monticello Chardonnay
100% Chardonnay
Paired with: Crab stuffed shrimp and lemon aioli

2010 Truchard Pinot Noir
100% Pinot Noir
Paired with: Chilled duck rillettes with dark cherry chutney

First, SOHO will pour a 2011 Cosentino “The Novelist.” The winemaker notes the wine “starts with lemon, honey-dew melon, fig and quince that jump out in the nose. Bright fresh citrus flavors are accented by a mid-palate richness. Limestone, spice and a minerality anchors the structure of this zesty and expansive wine with a long finish.”

Next, SOHO will pour a 2010 Flora Springs Merlot. The winemaker says of the wine: “The aromatics of this wine envelope you with nuances of black cherry, vanilla, and cedar cigar box. The flavor profile starts with a soft entry of blueberry, cassis, and cinnamon, leading to a briary mid-palate, and finishing with a Bordeaux-like granite dust character.”

Finally, SOHO will pour a 2010 Hess Collection “Allomi Vineyard” Cabernet Sauvignon. The winemaker says of the Cabernet: “Graham cracker, cinnamon, and cedar intertwine with currant and boysenberry both in the nose and on the palate. Up-front fruit on the entry transitions easily to a mid-palate of finesse and balance.”

SOHO’s executive chef, Joe Ahn, has created three tapas plates to be paired with each Napa Valley wine.

2011 Cosentino “The Novelist”
50% Sauvignon Blanc, 50% Semillon
Paired with: Oysters on the half shell and cucumber-jicama salsa

2010 Flora Springs Merlot
Paired with: Grilled Springer Mountain Chicken and ratatouille

2010 Hess Collection “Allomi Vineyard” Cabernet Sauvignon
86% Cabernet, 12% Petite Syrah, 2% Petit Verdot

First, SOHO will pour a 2011 Venge Spettro. The winemaker says of this white wine blend: “It is in full balance beginning with a perfume of tropical citrus, vanilla, a hint of orange blossom and some subtlety of round river stone for curiosity. The palate is bright and refreshing. The Sauvignon Blanc in the blend contributes acid and minerality while the next most dominant component is the Chardonnay that brings in beautiful, citrus and tropical fruit cocktail notes. Viognier, Albarino and Vermentino each lend a variety of added complexity in structure and minerality. The palate finishes very clean and fresh, inviting you in for another taste.”

Next, SOHO will pour a 2010 Steltzner Red Claret. The winemaker says of the Claret:  “Beautiful full fruit balanced with dark toasted oak notes. Classic Bordeaux blend with just enough Merlot and Cabernet Franc to give the underlying Cabernet Sauvignon finesse and grace. Dark berry fruits with hints of cedar box on the finish.”

Finally, SOHO will pour a 2009 Vindicated Cabernet Sauvignon. The winemaker says the Cabernet “is rich and rounded…with rewarding flavors and a beautiful finish.”

SOHO’s executive chef, Joe Ahn, has created three tapas plates to pair with each Napa Valley wine.

First, SOHO will pour a 2012 Trefethen Dry Riesling. The winemaker says of the Riesling: “Aomas of jasmine, orange blossom and lime lead to light tropical and floral notes on the palate. The wine has delightful acidity and minerality and ends with flavors of ruby red grapefruit and peaches.”

Next, SOHO will pour a 2010 B Side Bordeaux Blend. The winemaker says of the blend: “The wine opens with a heady bouquet of black cherries, dried plums, blackberries and peat moss. One’s first sip is greeted by a flavorful cacophony of black currants, dried blueberries, and Blackstrap molasses with hints of black pepper and toasted coconut emerging on the finish. This full-bodied wine is lush and rich with finely integrated tannins, yet it also shows impeccable balance.”
