For the final flight night of March on Wednesday, March 27, SOHO Atlanta Restaurant will finish showcasing the wines and flavors of Italy.

Vineyards_in_Valpolicella Vineyards in Valpolicella

First, SOHO will pour a 2011 Tasca Leone d’Almerita I.G.T. from Sicily. The winemaker notes, “The wine offers aromas of pink grapefruit, orange blossom, white peach, and pineapple. On the palate, it is fruit-forward and rich with good acidity and a pleasant finish.

Next, SOHO will pour a 2010 Val di Suga Rosso di Montalcino D.O.C from Tuscany. The winemaker says, “… the Rosso is a medium bodied easy drinking wine with some enjoyable similarities to Brunello. The Rosso exhibits the wonderful flavour characteristics of the grape varietal (Sangiovese) and has long been a favorite of Italian wine fans.”

Finally, SOHO will pour a 2007 Ca’ del Monte Valpolicella Ripasso D.O.C. from Valpolicella. The wine “offers hints of iris, violet and almond. It is silky, warm and elegant, with light oak notes.”

Each Italian wine will be paired with a tapas plate created by SOHO’s executive chef, Joe Ahn.
