SOHO Atlanta continues to feature the wines and flavors of Sonoma, California, on flight night, Wednesday, March 16.
First, SOHO will pour a 2009 Sonoma Coast "Laguna Vista Vineyards" Sauvignon Blanc from Sonoma County, California. The winemakers combined two clones to deliver a complex flavor profile in this Sauvignon Blanc. The first clone provides traditional citrus flavors and acid to the wine. The second clone provides depth and tropical flavors.
Next, SOHO will pour a 2006 Foppiano Petite Syrah from Russian River, California. On the nose, the Petite Syrah offers aromas of black fruit. On the palate, the wine offers tastes of blackberry and blueberry, as well as vanilla, exotic spices, and cocoa on the finish.
Finally, SOHO will pour a 2007 Orogeny Pinot Noir from Green Valley, California. The grapes for this wine are grown in the cool, foggy region of the Russian River Valley. On the palate, the wine offers flavors of cranberry, red cherry and rasberry preserves layered with hints of Asian spices and cinnamon.
SOHO's executive chef, Joe Ahn, has created three tapas plates to pair with each Sonoma wine. The following will be featured on SOHO's menu until Wednesday, March 23.
