SOHO will finish a tour of South American wines and flavors on flight night, Wednesday, September 29.
The vineyards of Casa Lapostolle
This week, SOHO will pour a 2008 Casa Lapostolle ‘Cuvee Alexandre’ Chardonnay from Chile. The Chardonnay offers aromas of sweet citrus fruit, white flowers, fresh tropical fruits and sweet spices. On the palate, the wine features good acidity and a long finish. Next, SOHO will pour a 2007 Tikal Patriota Bonarda/Malbec from Mendoza, Argentina. This red blend earned 92 points from Wine Advocate and offers aromas of spice box, black cherry and blueberry. On the palate, the wine is complex and rich.
Finally, SOHO will pour a 2007 Montes Alpha Syrah from Chile. The 2007 Syrah offers a big nose, with smoky and spicy aromas. On the palate, the wine is dry with flavors of berry fruit. Winemaker Aurelio Montes added Viognier to the blend, giving the wine a delicate touch.
