Exploring Atlanta's farmers markets is a wonderful way to spend a weekend morning – and enjoy the freshest produce the city has to offer.
One great market is the Piedmont Park Green Market, held every Saturday morning, May 1 – December 11, from 9am to 1pm at Piedmont Park (12th Street entrance gate). The Green Market features locally grown produce, artisan cheeses, fresh cut flowers and natural merchandise. The Green Market encourages sustainable communities in the most basic way – by providing shoppers with direct access to local farmers and merchants.
This Saturday, July 31, SOHO Sous Chef Jeff Haeger will be the featured chef at the Green Market. Chef Jeff will host a demonstration from 11am-12pm on the Patio of the Community Center. Jeff will be presenting two fantastic dishes. First, a citrus cured salmon over a salad of baby greens, fresh watermelon, tomatoes, and pickled Vidalia onions topped with fresh-baked benne wafers, lemon juice, sea salt and extra virgin olive oil. Jeff will also present a seasonal peach cobbler – a guest favorite at SOHO.
