SOHO finishes a tour of Spain this week on flight night Wednesday, July 28.
First, SOHO will pour a 2008 La Cana Albarino from Rias Baixas, Spain. The Albarino is produced from vines planted in 1966 in the northern part of Rias Baixas. The sandy soils of the region and cool climate lead to a wine with plenty of acidity and complexity. The wine offers good minerality balancing lush, ripe fruit.
Next, SOHO will pour a 2005 Bodegas Antano Reserva from Rioja Alta, Spain. This wine is a blend, featuring 80 percent Tempranillo. This wine offers ripe fruit and good acidic balance on the palate. Finally, SOHO will pour a 2007 Maurodos “Prima” from Toro, Spain. This wine earned 90 points from Wine Advocate and offers cherry, blackberry, chocolate and coffee flavors on the palate.
SOHO’s Chef Joe has created three new tapas plates to pair with each Spanish wine. The following will be available until Wednesday, August 4.
