SOHO continues to savor the wines and flavors of Spain on flight night, Wednesday, July 21.
First, SOHO will pour a 2009 Las Colinas del Ebro Garnacha Blanca from Catalonia, Spain. This wine, 100% Garnacha Blanca, was produced from 100-year-old vines. The Garnach Blanca offers plenty of spicy fruit, along with good depth, on the palate.
Next, SOHO will pour a 2008 Finca la Cuesta from Bierzo, Spain. The 2008 Finca la Cuesta is 100% Mencia produced from 60-year-old vines. The wine, which earned 91 points from Wine Advocate, offers a bouquet of roasted black fruits, smoke, and herbs. On the palate, it is smooth-textured and complex.
Finally, SOHO will pour a 2002 Finca El Puig from Priorat, Spain. The 2002 Finca El Puig is a blend of Garnacha, Carinena, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah. Grown from 100-year-old vines, the well-balanced wine offers flavors of ripe prunes, strawberries and citrus.
