SOHO's tour of Spanish wines and flavors continues on flight night, Wednesday, July 14.
This week, SOHO will pour a 2009 Val de Sil Godello from Valdeorras, Spain. Godello is one of Spain’s oldest noble grape varieties. SOHO’s wine expert, Lars Snavely, notes the Val de Sil Godello is full of rich fruit and well-balanced acidity.
SOHO will also pour a 2007 Abadia Retuerta Rivola from Ribera del Duero, Spain. The Abadia Retuerta winery is located in the center of the winegrowing area known as the Golden Mile, where Spain’s most prestigious wineries are located. The winery is considered one of the most advanced in Europe. The 2007 Rivola is a blend of Tempranillo and Cabernet Sauvignon and offers a fruity nose and silky finish.
Finally, SOHO will pour a 2005 Tinto Figuero 4 Month from Ribera del Duero, Spain. The wine, which is 100% Tempranillo, was produced from 10-20 year-old vines. The 2005 4 Month offers a strong black raspberry flavor and a smooth finish.
Chef Joe has created three tapas plates to complement each Spanish wine. The following will be available until July 21.
